You Will See Me

I will work ten times harder than before I will create art, I will create beauty I will create so many things that you can't ignore But I will not do them in your name

You Will See Me, Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip

I don't do New Year's Resolutions. If that's your thing, I'm all for it. But they've never worked for me. My resolutions come late on a Monday night in the midst of chaos. I will not let fear get a bridle on my sense of inspiration. That's a promise I made to myself as these photos hit the internet. Are we picking up on a theme here? If I repeat it enough times, I'll convince myself.

You will not like everything you see. You will not like everything about who I am. And I will not continue to apologize for it. And it must be working, because for the first time ever, I feel as though I'm creating without using those oppressive opinions as a measuring stick for my creativity. It feels amazing.

I can still hear that crazy voice on the phone, whining about the 'pornographic' photo I had posted online. That photo, perhaps the most beloved one I've ever taken, of a fully covered model stretched out in a field, tying together the earth and the sky... I let that get to me. I let it feel like a flaw on my part instead of theirs. The statue of David is naked. I hate to tell you guys. So are most of those angels in the water fountains. What a dismal world we'd live in if nobody was brave enough to flip off those small-minded voices.

I took these photos to promote the new Dark Summer line from Scroobius Pip, created with Speech Development Records. You should listen to his music/podcasts/check him out in his various acting excursions. You should also buy his merch.
